Guides and Manuals

Resin Printer

  1. Prepare files using ChituBox
  2. Load file onto USB drive
  3. Turn on machine
  4. Ensure the screen is clean and free of debris
  5. Load resin into machine
  6. Ensure NOTHING ELSE is in the chamber, like solid objects. The LCD screen may be cracked when the platform comes down if any foreign objects are in there when printing.
  7. Use interface to select print from USB drive
  8. For prints over 1 hour, ensure that you watch the print long enough that it looks like it is printing well.
  9. When part is done printing, allow to drip for a few minutes
  10. Put on gloves
  11. Remove print and move on to Washing Station
  12. If resin in chamber is not to be used, return to original bottle. Use a filter cone to strain any solidified resin out.

Washing Station

  1. Put on gloves.
  2. Remove platform from printer?
  3. Submerge in alcohol (already in the container)?
    1. Do not drop the part into the bucket without a bucket or support. Uncured resin can stick to the sides or the stirring mechanism and ruin it.
    2. If alcohol is significantly cloudy, change it out or filter it
  4. Turn on stirrer for 15 minutes
  5. Check on part to see if it needs further cleaning
  6. Remove part and set aside to air dry
  7. Once part is dry, move on to Curing Station

After 30 washes, the container should be cleaned.

  1. Let the container sit long enough for any solids to settle to the bottom.
  2. Transfer the alcohol slowly to a bottle using a filter and funnel
  3. Scrape out resin solids using plastic scraper and place on cardboard or something disposable
  4. Set the resin outside to cure for at least 1 hour in direct sunlight
  5. Replace the wash bin and refill with alcohol

Curing Station

  1. Make sure parts are fully dry before using this machine.
  2. Set to cure for 10-15 minutes depending on your type of resin.
  3. Check to see if part is fully cured. If any tacky spots remain, set in curing machine for additional time.

Handling and Storing Resin

  1. Resin is toxic and is a skin irritant.
  2. Wear gloves.
  3. Use ventilation.
  4. Uncured resin should be stored in original container. Transfer unused resin from printer to bottle using the filters. This will keep any partially cured solids out of the bottled resin.
  5. Use alcohol to clean up spilled resin immediately.

General Tips and Safety

  • Requires a safety checkout or class before using
  • Wear gloves when handling resin containers
  • Clean up spills or messes immediately using isopropyl.
  • Resins should be stored in the opaque, UV-resistant bottles they came in.
  • Resin is fully cured only after adequate exposure in a UV-curing unit. Only after being fully cured do the parts no longer require protective gloves to handle.

Maintenance

  • Resin must be stored between 20-25℃ (68-75°F)
  • LCDs need replacing occasionally
