Tips

  • Use the right hook. Make sure the size of your hook matches the weight of your yarn to avoid snags and slips.
  • Use stitch markers. Stitch markers can help you mark increases, decreases, the first and last stitch in a pattern, and stitches in a row.
  • Keep stitches loose. When learning more complicated stitches, try to keep your stitches relaxed and loose instead of holding your hook too tightly.
  • Check your gauge. A gauge is included in crochet patterns to help you get the right size for your project.
