Reference chart for adjusting the belts and pulleys
  • Always use the charts on this page or in the manual to determine what is appropriate for your material. Improper selection of speed or blade can cause excessive wear on the blade and quickly dull the teeth.
  • Quick Reference: materials and cutting speeds
    • Steel blades:
      • Under 1/4": 24TPI at 160fpm
      • 1/4-3/4": 14TPI at 160fpm
      • 1" and up: 14TPI at 115fpm
    • Brass/Bronze:
      • 18TPI at 335fpm
      • 1" and up: 10TPI at 335fpm
    • Aluminum: (skip tooth blades)
      • 3TPI at 3000fpm

Maintenance

  • Every 1500-2000 hours of operation, the gear box oil needs to be changed. Takes 1 1/2 quarts of "heavy adhesive gear oil".

Parts:

  • Blade: 93 1/2" by 1/2"
    • 4 TPI - ideal for aluminum and soft metals
    • 10 TPI - ideal for thicker metals
    • 14 TPI - middle ground
    • 18 TPI - good for thin metals
  • Pulleys:
    • Both pulleys:
      • Bore: 3/4"
      • Depth: 2 1/4"
      • Depth of belt groove: 7/16"
    • Small Pulley:
      • Largest dia: 3 1/4"
      • Smallest dia: 1 3/4"
    • Big one:
  • Bore:(see small one)
      • Largest dia: 4 1/2"
      • Smallest dia: 3 1/4"
  • VBelts:
    • Small belt size: 43 1/4" (for slow speeds)
    • Large belt size: 58 1/2" (for 3000fpm speed)
